Underneath, a seamless integration of modernity and rustic charm is evident, as branches are artfully incorporated to echo the surrounding trees and gardens. This fusion extends along one side of the bar, featuring small box shelves perfect for displaying an array of wines and liquors, enhancing the ambiance of any gathering.
Moreover, practicality meets elegance with the inclusion of marble design tiles encased in wood side by side, serving as a practical preparation counter for preparing drinks or BBQ meals. Thoughtful storage solutions abound, with built-in compartments catering to event essentials and two drawers ingeniously designed to house a cooler, ensuring beverages and marinated meats remain refreshingly chilled. This custom-built wooden daybed was thoughtfully crafted as a functional and inviting outdoor retreat, combining strength, comfort, and clean handcrafted design. Built from natural lumber, the solid frame and tall posts create a pergola-style structure that adds both architectural presence and a sense of shelter. The warm wood tones and visible grain highlight the natural character of the wood, giving the piece a timeless, rustic appeal that blends naturally with the outdoor setting.
The wide seating surface provides plenty of room for relaxing, while the slatted construction offers both support and durability. A hinged panel is built into the seat to allow the backrest to incline, adding adjustable comfort and making the daybed suitable for sitting upright or leaning back to unwind. This custom table is a tribute to Fijian culture and island life, featuring laser engravings traditional tribal patterns alongside of Fijian fish, coconut trees, Fijian flowers, and birds. Each wood panel flows seamlessly into the next, creating a unified story inspired by the ocean and the land. Blue epoxy mixed with sand is poured into the grooves between each panel, giving the effect of water channels moving through the design, while a clear epoxy finish over the entire tabletop enhances the natural wood grain and adds long-lasting durability.
At the center of the table is a sunken pocket framed by a naturally entwined branch, carefully set in place to outline the opening and give it an organic, artistic touch. This centerpiece is both functional and decorative you can fill it with sand and seashells, small plants, or other natural elements. Sand and clear epoxy are poured around the branch and center pocket to create the look of a small island emerging from the surrounding “sea,” adding depth and a strong visual focal point.

Custom stairs leading to an above-ground swimming pool can transform the pool area into a stylish and functional space. Imagine a design where every detail is carefully considered to enhance both safety and aesthetics, offering a seamless blend with the surrounding landscape.

The first platform provided for storing shoes neatly away. Additionally, this level features ample storage for pool toys, keeping them easily accessible. A charming touch is added with a small kids’ bench, offering a spot for little ones to sit while they remove their shoes or take a break from swimming, fostering both safety and comfort for young swimmers.
The second platform reveals the primary access point to the pool, designed with both safety and style in mind. Custom wood railing wraps around the platform, providing a secure barrier without compromising the aesthetic appeal. In essence, these custom stairs to the above-ground swimming pool redefine the poolside experience. Transforming the backyard into a vibrant entertainment and barbecue space prompted me to revamp the shed beneath my patio. Eager to enhance its functionality, I envisioned sliding doors and windows to illuminate the space. By extending the front wall by four feet, I cleverly crafted a two-foot overhang from the patio, perfect for accommodating a tranquil fountain beneath. Seamlessly integrating the sliding doors and windows, I meticulously adorned their trims with wood, infusing a warm rustic charm. Embracing creativity, I enveloped the side and front walls with cedar scrap wood, while fashioning wooden bricks for the stair side wall, leaving their front raw to exude an authentic rustic allure. Crafting a feature wall beneath the stairs from leftover wood pieces added a distinctive touch to the space. Replacing the old stairs with meticulously crafted new ones, I opted for white plexiglass roofing to flood the interior with natural light, elevating the shed’s appeal and functionality.
This innovative renovation not only amplifies outdoor storage capacity but also opens avenues for indoor gardening, with the abundant natural light fostering a potential greenhouse within the shed’s front section. The strategic placement of sliding doors and windows not only enhances accessibility but also facilitates a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor spaces, fostering a cohesive entertainment area within the backyard. The fusion of rustic aesthetics with functional design elements breathes new life into the shed, elevating it from a mere storage space to a versatile retreat that harmonizes with the backyard’s ambiance. With its newfound charm and versatility, the renovated shed stands as a testament to creative ingenuity, offering a welcoming space for leisure and relaxation amidst the verdant backdrop of the backyard.
Client’s desires for a seating and entertainment area with a BBQ space. The client sought a space capable of accommodating gatherings while maintaining a masculine aesthetic with clean lines. Additionally, they requested a bar table with designated working and serving sections, as well as storage for utensils and coolers for beverages and food.
To meet these specifications, I meticulously constructed both the benches and bar table to align with the client’s vision. Incorporating sturdy materials and sleek finishes, I ensured durability and a modern appeal. The benches were adorned with charming details and artistry, while high lighting emphasized the cedar textures, enhancing the overall ambiance.
Three years later, when the client decided to install a hot tub in the backyard, they sought adjustments to the existing layout. In response, I dismantled the old benches, salvaging the wood and utilizing scrap pieces to craft a new L-shaped bench. This redesign not only provided ample seating but also accommodated a cabinet box to discreetly house the propane tank for the fire table.
Through careful planning and craftsmanship, I successfully transformed the outdoor space to accommodate evolving needs while maintaining its original charm and functionality.
